Mathelex ("we", "our") is a gamified mathematics learning app for school children (Nursery to Class 5). This policy explains what information we collect and how we protect it. We are committed to child safety and comply with the Google Play Families Policy and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023.
For school students (enrolled via their school): first name, class, section, roll number, a school-issued username and PIN, and learning progress (scores, stars, XP, streaks, activity within the app). For home students: a parent/guardian-provided name and login. We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, photos, contacts, or advertising identifiers from children.
Data is used solely to deliver the learning experience: saving progress, generating progress reports for teachers and parents, awarding badges, and improving lesson content. We do not use children's data for advertising or marketing.
Mathelex contains no third-party advertising. In-app payment features are disabled for student accounts. School licensing is handled directly with schools, outside the app.
We do not sell or rent personal data. Progress data is visible only to the student, their teachers, their school administrators, and their parents/guardians. Data is stored securely with our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) under industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
School student accounts are created by schools, which obtain parental consent as part of enrolment. Parents may review their child's data via the Parent Dashboard, or request correction or deletion at any time through the school or by contacting us.
Data is retained while the account is active. When a school or parent requests deletion, the student's personal data and progress are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
We use secure authentication, server-side verification of all data writes, rate limiting, and encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to student data is restricted to authorised school staff and administrators.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app.
